(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi successfully debuted as a soloist by dropping the first mini album, YUQ1, on April 23.
YUQ1 sold 263,834 copies on the first day, breaking many records. With these figures, the 24-year-old idol secured a spot in the top 5 for the highest-selling albums on the first day by K-pop female soloists.
Yuqi shines with her latest album “#YUQ1”, securing the fifth spot with 263,834 copies sold.
With this, she joined the ranks alongside Jisoo’s ME with 876,249 copies, Jihyo’s ZONE with 361,104 copies, Lisa’s LALISA with 330,129 copies, and Rosé -R- with 282,674 copies.
It was reported that Yuqi’s solo debut recorded a whopping 500,000 pre-orders. After 6 years with (G)I-DLE, she is branching out as a soloist for the first time.
The album YUQ1 features 7 tracks, impressively, she participated in writing lyrics and composition of five tracks.
Lastly, Yuqi will be busy with promotional activities in the coming days including appearances on music shows.
