While Park Bo Young and Ahn Jae Hong are hosting the opening ceremony, Sooyoung from Girls’ Generation and Gong Myung will take on the role of hosts for the closing ceremony of the 29th BIFF.
On October 11, Sooyoung and Gong Myung will bring the curtains down on the 10-day film festival with a grand closing ceremony at the Busan Cinema Center Outdoor Theater.
Park Bo Young and Ahn Jae Hong will kick off the festival by hosting the opening ceremony on October 2.
Gong Myung and Shin Min Ha’s upcoming film Way Back Love is also selected for screening at the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
BIFF 2024 features an impressive lineup of 279 films from 63 countries. This includes 224 officially invited films and 55 community screenings.
The festival kicks off with Kim Sang Man’s South Korean film ‘Uprising’ and concludes with Eric Khoo’s ‘Spirit World’, a fantasy drama starring Catherine Deneuve.
On the other hand, Gong Myung has built an impressive filmography since his debut with roles in The Bride of Haebak, Citizen of a Kind, Extreme Job, Lovers of the Red Sky, and more.
Sooyoung, besides being a K-pop idol, is a talented actress who has starred in Run On, Squad 38, If You Wish Upon Me, So I Married the Anti-Fan, and more.
Interestingly, Gong Myung and Sooyoung are reported to star in the romance drama A Very Sensible Alcoholic (literal title).
Meanwhile, the 2024 BIFF kicks off on Wednesday, October 2, and wraps up on Friday, October 11.
