GIRLSET is officially here. The girl group formerly known as VCHA has returned with a new name, a new image, and a new single on the way. The group is entering a new chapter with its current four-member lineup: Camila, Lexi, Kendall, and Savanna.
On August 8 at midnight, JYP USA shared their first teaser image under the new identity through their official Twitter account on August 8. GIRLSET will drop their new single “Commas” on August 29 at 12 am ET.
Though JYP hasn’t revealed much about the sound or concept yet, the title suggests something reflective or transitional, like a pause, a shift, or a new direction.
The rebranding follows key developments in the group’s structure. Originally formed through the “A2K” project, VCHA debuted in 2024 with six members. However, internal changes, including the departure of members Kaylee and KG, led to uncertainty about the group’s future.
KG requested contract termination and parted ways with JYP, while Kaylee left on amicable terms. In response, the agency decided to reorganize and relaunch the group with a new identity. KG accused JYP USA of child labor, emotional and physical strain, and unfair treatment.
After a prolonged hiatus of 1.5 years, it appeared that the group had disbanded. However, VCHA has decided to continue their journey despite the hiccups. This release will serve as GIRLSET’s official debut post-rebrand, setting the tone for the group’s future.
JYP Entertainment introduced the name GIRLSET through an official cinematic teaser released on August 7. According to the agency, the name reflects the members’ “setting who they are.” It is a message of individuality, direction, and a renewed sense of purpose.
GIRLSET now consists of four members: Camila, Lexi, Kendall, and Savanna. All four were part of the original VCHA lineup and are returning with a more polished image. Fans have noted the stronger group chemistry and growth shown in recent promotional content.
Meanwhile, GIRLSET’s “Commas” is set for release on August 29 at 12 AM ET. In the coming weeks, fans can expect teaser photos, concept trailers, MV teasers, and more.
