As per reports on July 23, GOT7’s Youngjae is joining the cast for Hyeri’s new teen mystery drama.

In addition, STUDIO X+U confirmed that Chung Su Bin, Oh Woo Ri, Kang Hye Won, and Lee Hyeri will be joining the cast.

If Youngjae accepts the offer, he will be making his drama comeback after a 3-year hiatus, his last appearance being in the 2021 drama Love & Wish.

Friendly Rivalry is a dark and suspenseful teen thriller that explores the intense rivalries and fragile relationships between high school girls, where the stakes are life or death. Based on the hit webtoon, this drama is set to reveal a new side of Youngjae.

The 27-year-old GOT7 member has previously proven his acting skills with, So Not Worth It (2021), Dare to Love Me (2024), and Love & Wish.

Friendly Rivalry is set to premiere in Korea in the first half of 2025 on U+ Mobile TV, with plans for global streaming still to be announced.
