Han Ji Min may be teaming up with her agency senior Lee Byung Hun for an upcoming spy drama. The 43-year-old actress is currently reviewing an offer to star in Koreans (working title), a new project directed by Ahn Gil Ho. The drama is also expected to be Lee Byung Hun’s next work.

Han Ji Min has been offered the role of the wife in a spy couple. This is the same role that legendary actress Jun Ji Hyun considered last year but later declined due to scheduling issues. Han’s agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that she recently received the offer but explained that she is still coordinating her schedule before making a final decision.

The actress is also preparing for the release of her upcoming JTBC weekend drama The Practical Guide to Love, which is set to premiere next month. Because of her existing commitments, her participation in Koreans has not yet been confirmed.

If Han Ji Min joins the project, it would mark her third time appearing in a production linked to Lee Byung Hun, though the two have never actually acted together on screen. In All In (2003), the “Love Scout” actress played the younger version of the female lead, while Lee Byung Hun starred as the adult male lead, so their characters never met.

Later, in Our Blues (2022), both actors appeared in the same drama but followed separate storylines with no shared scenes.

For this reason, fans are especially excited about the possibility of seeing the two finally act together. If confirmed, Koreans would show Han Ji Min, who once portrayed a child character in All In, now playing a married couple opposite Lee Byung Hun.

Koreans is a Korean remake of the popular American spy series The Americans. While the original was set during the Cold War in the United States, the Korean version will take place during South Korea’s military dictatorship era. The drama has grabbed attention since its production was announced last year.

The series is being produced by Studio AA, and the broadcast platform has not yet been decided. Due to its large production scale, discussions are currently underway with global streaming platforms. Casting is nearing completion, and filming is expected to begin in the first half of the year.
