ARMYs can finally breathe easy with the latest update about BTS SUGA. Since his enlistment in September 2023, the K-pop rapper has not given any updates or shared heartfelt Weverse posts like other BTS members.
He has been noticeably absent from the public eye, except for a movie premiere last year, unlike other BTS members who are often spotted enjoying their leave.
After the drunk driving incident in August 2024, fans were particularly worried about the well-being of SUGA. He was subject to intense media scrutiny and public backlash when booked on charges of drunk driving an e-scooter.
The “Haegeum” rapper paid a fine of 15 million won and also appeared before police for investigation. The incident was blown way out of proportion by Korean media and netizens. K-ARMYs sent wreaths to HYBE headquarters to demand his withdrawal from BTS.
Since then, there has been no update about SUGA and the latest encounter shared by a fan has ARMYs relieved.
More recently, a fan spotted him in the Apgujeong neighborhood with a friend. The fan shared, “I saw BTS’ Yoongi-nim at Apgujeong Rodeo.. Around 7:10 PM… He was with a friend, wearing a black cap, black short padded jacket, and a white mask. Anyone could tell it was Suga.. As soon as our we made eye contact, he looked down at the ground. I was shocked at how much smaller his face was than I expected..”
The fan added, “I am writing this for ARMYs.
Please do not worry, he seemed to be doing well. He was smiling brightly with a friend.
I wanted so badly to talk to him and get his autograph, but I did not approach him to respect Yoongi-nim’s privacy.”
In other news, SUGA will complete his alternative service as a public service worker on June 22. In addition, BTS will reunite in mid-2025 and make a comeback.
