ADOR’s Vision
ADOR’s audition teaser video gives us a glimpse into their storytelling style, focusing on young talents united by their dreams. It’s reminiscent of their successful formula with NewJeans, who brought the “minimalist Y2K” vibe to K-pop. Now, ADOR is setting its sights on a new project – a boy group – despite the ongoing legal tussle with NewJeans.
NewJeans vs. ADOR
While recruiting new talent, ADOR remains entangled in a high-profile conflict with NewJeans (now NJZ). The group terminated contracts in 2024, citing mistreatment after CEO Min Hee Jin’s ousting. A Seoul court recently barred NJZ from independent activities, ruling ADOR’s contracts valid. The label continues paying the group millions of dollars in settlements, even as both parties await a final lawsuit verdict.
After two hearings for their contract validity lawsuit, the third hearing is scheduled for July 24. The crux of these hearings is that NewJeans refused to return to the “new” ADOR (without Min Hee Jin). On the other hand, the label has repeatedly expressed its willingness to talk to the members and address their concerns.
Why Join ADOR?
Despite the controversies, ADOR gives aspiring artists a shot at global fame, and their track record speaks for itself – they have launched stars before. Backed by HYBE, trainees get the best training in the industry. What’s more, ADOR’s open-door policy welcomes all kinds of talent, not just the traditional fits.
