GOT7 fans were left wondering why Jackson Wang was absent from the group’s performance on SBS’ Inkigayo.
The 7-member K-pop boy band has reunited for a comeback after around 3 years. They released the mini-album “WINTER HEPTAGON” with the title track “PYTHON” on all music platforms on January 20.
Since then, GOT7 has been actively promoting their latest release on domestic music shows and entertainment platforms.
On Sunday, January 26, they performed at the popular music show SBS’ Inkigayo, however, Jackson Wang did not perform with the group. Understandably, it concerned fans as they were expecting a full-group performance and wanted to know the reason behind it.
An official statement was released on the group’s official social media handle about his absence from the music show. The statement reads, “GOT7’s Jackson was preparing for today’s (January 26) ‘SBS Inkigayo’ stage when he suddenly experienced chest pain and visited the hospital. He is currently receiving treatment and recovering.
According to the doctor’s advice, he will take sufficient rest and then resume activities for ‘WINTER HEPTAGON’.
We apologize for Jackson’s absence from today’s ‘SBS Inkigayo’ stage and ask for your understanding.”
Meanwhile, their comeback album “WINTER HEPTAGON” has sold 124,732 copies since its release. It recorded 93, 053 album sales on day one. More importantly, GOT7 will hold their first-ever concert “NESTFEST” in 6 years on February 1-2 at the Olympic Handball Stadium in Seoul.
