Galaxy Corporation, representing BIGBANG leader G-Dragon, has quickly become a leader in South Korea’s AI entertainment technology industry. Founded in 2019, the company combines artificial intelligence, metaverse technology, and media to create new forms of entertainment.
In the first half of 2025, Galaxy recorded KRW 126 billion ($90m) in sales, an operating profit of KRW 12 billion ($8.6m), and a net profit of KRW 13 billion ($9.3).
This represents more than a 207% increase compared to 2024 and more than triples the previous year’s total sales of around KRW 40 billion. After years of operating and net losses, Galaxy Corporation’s first-half profits show the success of its long-term strategy.
The company’s growth comes from its strategy of merging media, IP, commerce, and technology. For years, Galaxy invested heavily in building this system, which brought deficits. In 2025, the focus shifted from investment to commercialization, and profits quickly followed.
A major factor in this growth has been K-pop icon G-Dragon. He became an artist under Galaxy Corporation in December 2023, and received a 20 billion KRW ($14.4m) signing bonus, including 10 billion KRW ($7.2m) in stock options.
His involvement has significantly boosted the company’s profile and sales. G-Dragon’s world tour, Übermensch, covering Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America, drew massive global attention. Tickets for associated media exhibitions sold out quickly and helped Galaxy Corporation generate substantial revenue.
Besides the world tour, Galaxy Corporation has expanded G-Dragon’s brand into other areas. They launched global sales of 10 million cans of Peace Minus One Highball and held media tech exhibitions connected to his tour.
On the technology side, it worked on projects such as AI music videos with Microsoft and an AI sound transmission experiment that sent music into space. These moves highlight its role as a leader in “enter-tech,” where entertainment meets technology.
The company’s media arm is also strong. It has produced over 400 shows, including popular titles like 2 Days & 1 Night, Mr. Trot 3, and Physical 100 Season 2. More recently, Galaxy Corporation added more big names to its roster, including actor Song Kang Ho and singer Kim Jong Kook. It also announced a global audition in August 2025 to create a virtual K-pop group.
Looking ahead, Galaxy plans to expand G-Dragon’s tour with encore shows and continue buying new IPs. The company is also preparing for a stock market listing next year.
