K-pop’s global influence shows no signs of slowing as HUNTR/X from KPop Demon Hunters and Stray Kids achieve major milestones on the Billboard charts this week.
According to the Billboard chart revealed on September 2, the soundtrack “Golden” from Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks.
HUNTR/X, a fictional girl group in the film made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, also previously led the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for three straight weeks. They became the first girl group in 24 years to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, a feat previously achieved by Destiny’s Child in 2001.
The track is only the third K-pop song to stay at No. 1 for three or more weeks, joining BTS’s “Butter” and “Dynamite.”
Since debuting at #81, “Golden” gradually climbed the chart, achieving No. 1 multiple times over ten weeks. During this period, it recorded 35.3 million streams, 19.7 million radio impressions, and sold 9,000 copies.
“Golden” started at No. 81 on the Hot 100 and, over 10 consecutive weeks, rose sequentially to No. 23, No. 6, No. 4, No. 2, No. 2, then No. 1, dropped to No. 2, and finally returned to No. 1 for two consecutive weeks.
Other songs from the soundtrack, including SAJA Boys’ “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop”, also performed strongly, holding positions at No. 4 and No. 5, while HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” climbed to the 9th spot.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids continues to make their mark internationally. Their new lead single, “CEREMONY” from the studio album “KARMA” debuted at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. This gives the group their fourth entry on the chart.
This achievement places them alongside BTS as one of the few K-pop boy groups with multiple Hot 100 hits. Plus, this also makes Stray Kids the JYP Entertainment act with the highest number of Billboard chart entries, overtaking TWICE.
Their album “KARMA” has also seen massive success, topping the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts. “CEREMONY” peaked at #3 on Digital Song Sales and #10 and #8 on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US chart, respectively.
Stray Kids’ album “KARMA” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making them the group with the most No. 1 albums this century. Additional Stray Kids tracks on the Hot 100 include “Chk Chk Boom” (#49), “LALALALA” (#90), and “Lose My Breath” (#90). In 2025, “CEREMONY” is the second-highest-charting track after BLACKPINK’s “Jump” (#28).
