HYBE’s leaked internal monitoring report has come under fire for its ruthless criticism of K-pop idols. Many disturbing practices have also come to light to change public perception.
The scandalous internal report was briefly made public when submitted to the National Assembly.
In a newly viral snippet, HYBE’s strategy to boost SEVENTEEN Hoshi’s positive image using “Running Man” cast member Ji Suk Jin’s health complication is receiving a lot of backlash.
The snippet states, “Ji Suk Jin actively supported Hoshi, and it’s been revealed that he’s facing health issues recently. Given Ji Suk Jin’s positive image among idol fans as a harmless ahjussi (uncle) figure, it would be beneficial for Hoshi to show concern for his well-being or visit him in the hospital. This isn’t about gaining something but rather taking care of someone who deserves it.”
Esteem Entertainment announced in December 2018 that Ji Suk Jin will be taking a break from SBS’s popular variety show ‘Running Man’ to focus on his health. Ji’s doctors advised him to undergo treatment, therefore, he decided to take a short hiatus to rest and regain his strength.
Fans are devastated and outraged by the recent reveal, feeling that Ji Suk Jin’s health struggles are being exploited to boost Hoshi’s image.
On another note, HYBE’s CEO has apologized for the controversy surrounding the recent report, clarifying that it was compiled from opinions sourced from online communities.
