Hyeri Faces Backlash for Endorsing KFC Amid Pro-Palestinian Boycott

Some overseas fans who support Palestine in the Israel-Gaza conflict criticized singer and actress Hyeri for being chosen as a model for a global chicken brand, KFC. They have been posting negative comments on social media posts promoting the brand.

Hyeri was recently chosen as the new face of KFC.

Later, on April 6, she shared a picture from her filming location on her social media with the caption, “You’re asking me how I eat so well. Because it’s so delicious. KFC’s new menu is crazy.”

Before the social media backlash against Hyeri, singers Jeon Somi, ENHYPEN’s Jake, and LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yunjin faced harsh criticism from international fans for drinking Starbucks coffee.

Starbucks was labeled as pro-Israel amid the Gaza war controversy that erupted last October, prompting boycotts in certain circles.

In other news, she was embroiled in a controversy after sharing a cryptic post when her ex-partner Ryu Jun Yeol confirmed her relationship with actress Han Sohee.
