IDID Members: Ages, Debut Date, and Everything You Need to Know

IDID

IDID is the second K-pop group to debut under STARSHIP Entertainment after KiiiKiii.

In July 2024, STARSHIP (IVE, MONSTA X, CRAVITY) unveiled its plans to launch a new boy group through a pre-debut survival program titled “NewKids on the STARSHIP.”

This project later evolved into the official YouTube series “Debut’s Plan,” which aired from March 14 to May 4, 2025. The show followed Starship trainees as they competed for a place in the company’s first new boy group in five years.

After weeks of intense performances, evaluations, and eliminations, the final lineup was revealed on May 4, 2025, along with the group’s official name: IDID. Meaning “I did it,” the name reflects the members’ journey, growth, and determination to debut.

Originally, eight members were selected, but Park Junhwan left the group on June 2, 2025, due to psychological stress caused by false online rumors.

IDID Members Complete Profile

Kim Minjae

Minjae, who trained at Def Dance Skool, is admired for his ideal proportions, particularly his long legs and small face. He spent about two years training under SM Entertainment before joining STARSHIP. From a young age, Kim dreamed of becoming an idol, and looks up to both Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan. He aspires to become the next “MJ.” Minjae was also the first member of the group to be officially announced.

Jang Yonghoon

Yonghoon, an only child, originally set out to become a model before shifting his focus to idol training. He was considered one of the junior trainees during Debut’s Plan, meaning he was at an intermediate level of training. Yonghoon was the second member to be revealed and often describes his journey in NewKids as similar to a tree, steadily growing and preparing to bear fruit.

Baek Junhyuk

Junhyuk, the third IDID member to be announced, studied at DEF Dance Academy and Pick Planet Academy. He is currently majoring in Practical Dance at Hanlim Multi Art School.

A former trainee under both JYP Entertainment (2020) and SM Entertainment, Junhyuk shares a close bond with fellow trainee and member Seonghyeon. They trained together at a previous company before unexpectedly reuniting at STARSHIP.

Park Wonbin

Wonbin, the fourth member to be introduced, spent 4 years and 2 months as a trainee. He is one of STARSHIP Entertainment’s longest-training idols before his debut.

Park graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School, majoring in Entertainment. He sees his dimple as a key part of his visual appeal. Though not fluent, he can speak a bit of Japanese and always looks for new ways to challenge himself.

Chu Yoochan

Before joining STARSHIP, the fifth IDID member, Yoochan, trained at Flat9 Academy and was previously a trainee under IST Entertainment. He also passed the final audition for Kakao M back in September 2019.

Yoochan graduated from Incheon Seokcheon Elementary, Gwol Middle School, and Incheon Daeyoung Arts High School, where he studied Practical Music. He also believes his lips are one of his most charming features.

Jeong Semin (Maknae)

Semin trained for just 10 months before joining STARSHIP through Debut’s Plan. He was the sixth member announced and was selected via the fan save. Known for his dancing, he also plays football and guitar, and trained at GO Arts Dance Studio. He studies Practical Music at Hanlim Multi Art School and describes his journey as turning from coal into a shining gem.

Park Seonghyeon

Seonghyeon began dreaming of becoming a singer in sixth grade and has trained for 3 years and 9 months. He enjoys basketball, skateboarding, and playing the piano, and is currently learning to compose and write lyrics.

He became close with Junhyuk while training at the same company before both joined STARSHIP. In Debut’s Plan, he was one of the senior trainees and the final member to be revealed, selected through the board save.
