ILLIT revealed their fandom name, LILLY, via Weverse live on April 21. Previously, they were using YOULLIT temporarily before the official announcement.
Shortly after announcing the fandom name, the group received backlash from other fandoms. Their fan club name was deemed too similar to BLACKPINK Lisa’s fandom name, Lilies, and nearly the same as NMIXX’s active member, Lily.
Since the fan club name overlapped with other fandom names, BELIFT LAB addressed the concerns by announcing plans to change fandom names.
The agency revealed the process of selecting the fandom name, stating, “The fan club name was selected among various candidates compiled with fan participation, reflecting our wishes for an everlasting love between ILLIT and its fans.”
Furthermore, the agency added, “However, we have decided to revisit the matter upon reviewing various concerns that have emerged.”
Regarding the new ILLIT fandom name, BELIFT LAB shared, “The new fan club name will be chosen among other shortlisted candidates and be announced at a later date.”
Lastly, fans are anxiously awaiting the announcement of a new fandom name for ILLIT.
