The five-member K-pop group will be competing for the “Summer Queen” title with their upcoming release.

After over a year since their debut with the viral song “Magnetic”, the group has fans speculating about their next musical direction.

On April 30, Korean media outlet, IZE, exclusively reported that ILLIT is gearing up for a comeback in mid-June. This marks their first new release in approximately eight months since their sophomore album ‘I’LL LIKE YOU’ dropped in October 2024.

They made history as the first K-pop group to simultaneously enter both Billboard’s Hot 100 and the UK’s Official Singles Top 100 with their debut track “Magnetic”, an extraordinary feat for any rookie act. The song entered the HOT 100 at No. 91, becoming the fastest K-pop debut song to debut on the prestigious chart.

Their first mini-album “SUPER REAL ME”, released on March 25, 2024, achieved the third-highest first-week sales in K-pop history for a debut girl group release, selling a staggering 380,056 copies.

This remarkable performance places them just behind Hearts2Hearts’ single album “The Chase” (408,880) and BABYMONSTER’s ‘BABYMONS7ER’ (401,287) while surpassing NewJeans’ debut album ‘New Jeans’, which sold 311,271 copies in its first week. Their sophomore album “I’LL LIKE YOU” recorded 382,621 copies in the first week of release.

Meanwhile, rookie group ILLIT will hold their first fan concert, “2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN SEOUL,” on June 7-8 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. They will hold fan concerts in Japan, performing in Yokohama and Osaka on August 10-11 and September 3-4, respectively.
