INFINITE’s Lee Sungjong has finally received the justice he deserved. After a lengthy battle, the court has ruled in his favor, ordering his former agency, SPK Entertainment, to pay the earnings they had withheld from him.
On March 11, sources close to the matter confirmed that the INFINITE member had secured a victory in his lawsuit against SPK Entertainment, led by CEO Kim Seung Pil.
Sungjong took his former agency to court last year. He claimed that they had failed to pay promised contract fees and provide vital support for his career. Specifically, Lee claimed that the agency had neglected to provide adequate support for his TV appearances, fan meetings, and album releases.
Furthermore, he demanded payment for his tireless work over the past two years, including fees for his YouTube appearances and Japanese fan meetings. The court ruled in his favor on February 28 and ordered SPK Entertainment to pay unpaid earnings.
The court ordered the former agency to pay him the money they owed, plus interest. The interest will be 6% from April 2023 to February 2025, and 12% after that until the debt is fully paid.
Now that the legal battle is over, Sungjong plans to shift his focus on INFINTE’s upcoming activities as the group’s 15th anniversary approaches.
Meanwhile, INFINITE made a grand return to the music scene with the release of their 8th mini album, “LIKE INFINITE”, on March 6. As part of their 15th-anniversary celebrations, the group will be holding an encore concert for their debut tour, “LIMITED EDITION”. The concerts are scheduled to take place at the INSPIRE Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon on April 12 and 13.
