Actor Kim Jung Hyun is starting the new year with a significant change. After six years together, Kim has parted ways with his agency, Story J agency.
On January 6, an official from Story J Company told OSEN, “We will be accompanying actor Kim Jung Hyun until February and then we will terminate the exclusive contract.”
With this, the “Iron Family” actor and Story J Company will end their 6-year partnership and go their separate ways.
Despite parting ways, Story J Company will continue to support his ongoing project, the KBS 2TV drama “Iron Family”, until he secures a contract with a new agency after February.
Kim Jung Hyun is a versatile actor who launched his career with the 2015 film “Overman”. After studying Acting at the Han National University of Arts, he gained popularity for his early roles in dramas such as “Don’t Dare to Dream” and “The Rebel”.
His rise to stardom began with “School 2017”, “Kokdu: Season of Deity”, “Crash Landing on You”, and “Mr. Queen”.
Kim Jung Hyun was embroiled in controversy in 2018 when he refused to link arms with co-star Seohyun at a drama press conference. Initially, his behavior was seen as overly rigid. However, it was later revealed that he was emotionally manipulated by his then-girlfriend, actress Seo Ye Ji, who had been allegedly gaslighting and controlling him.
During the 2024 KBS Drama Awards, he publicly apologized to Seohyun during his acceptance speech. However, his apology did not sit well with netizens as they accused him of only apologizing to gain public sympathy.
On the work front, Kim Jung Hyun is currently starring as the male lead Seo Kang Joo in the ongoing drama “Iron Family”.
