MBC’s beloved Idol Star Athletics Championships, better known to fans as ISAC 2025, will be back this Chuseok with more idols, fresh games, and a fun MC lineup.
According to SPOTV News on July 9, MBC plans to record the ISAC 2025 Chuseok special on August 25. The show will air during the Chuseok holiday in October.
ISAC is a holiday tradition where idols swap the stage for the track. Groups compete in classic events like the 60-meter sprint and relay, plus dance sports, wrestling, laser shooting, and even a men’s soccer penalty shootout this year. It’s always a chance for unexpected ‘athletic idols’ to shine, and many rookies get noticed here for the first time.
Jun Hyun Moo will return as the main MC for ISAC 2025, joined by BTOB’s Lee Chang Sub and comedian Lee Eun Ji. The three, known for their quick jokes and playful chemistry, will keep the atmosphere fun between intense races.
Fans can expect a packed lineup with both big names and rookie groups; the full list usually drops closer to the recording date. Last year’s ISAC, which came back after a two-year break, brought huge ratings and plenty of trending clips.
ILLIT, ZEROBASEONE, KISS OF LIFE, Candy Shop, NCT WISH, NiziU, NOWADAYS, and many other K-pop groups participated for the first time. This year, fans will get to see members from new K-pop groups, like Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, KickFlip, and more, show their athletic side.
With filming happening in late August, fans are already guessing which idols will grab gold.
