ITZY’s Yuna is preparing to take her first steps as a solo artist. As reported by Sports Kyunghyang on January 6, the 22-year-old K-pop star will release her first solo album in March.
This will be the second solo debut within ITZY, following Yeji, who released her solo album “AIR” in March last year. Yeji’s title track was widely praised and was even selected as one of British magazine Dazed’s “30 Best K-pop Tracks of 2025.”
Yuna’s solo album is described as a project “brimming with her own unique style.” It will reveal a new side of her that she was not fully able to show while promoting as part of the five-member ITZY.
JYP Entertainment confirmed that the idol is “currently preparing her solo debut album,” however, the exact release date is not yet decided.
As per reports, she has already started filming a music video and is actively preparing for the album. The music video is expected to reflect her personality and wide range of activities.
Her solo debut comes at a time when Yuna is steadily expanding her career into acting. The ITZY’s youngest member has been building her profile as a “next-generation all-rounder” by stepping into acting.
She is set to star alongside popular Kdrama actress Park Shin Hye in the upcoming tvN drama “Undercover Miss Hong,” which will premiere on January 17. In the series, Yuna plays Hong Jang Mi, the younger sister of Park’s character. Jang Mi is a lively character who loves 1990s hip-hop and uses her makeup skills to help her sister maintain an undercover identity.
The drama is set in late-1990s Seoul and follows an elite financial inspector working undercover at a securities firm. Yuna has also been cast in another tvN drama, “My Favorite Employee.”
At the same time, Yuna continues to stay active with ITZY. The group will kick off their third world tour, “Tunnel Vision,” with solo concerts held from February 13 to 15 at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. These concerts give fans a chance to see ITZY as five on stage again before Yuna begins full-scale promotions for her solo album.
