Yuna is officially stepping into acting for the first time. As reported by OSEN on July 1, the ITZY member will join the cast of tvN’s retro office comedy Miss Undercover Boss. The drama will premiere in the first half of 2026.
After the news broke, tvN confirmed to Dispatch via phone call that Yuna will star in the Miss Undercover Boss.
Miss Undercover Boss tells the story of Sammo Hung (Park Shin Hye), a 35-year-old elite securities supervisor who only knows work. Using her naturally youthful looks, she secretly gets hired as a 20-year-old high school graduate at a securities firm that is under suspicion for shady fund flows in the late 1990s during the IMF crisis. It also stars Go Kyung Pyo, Ha Yun Kyung, and Cho Han Gyul.
Yuna, who debuted as a member of ITZY in 2019, will transform into an “acting-dol” through this new project. In the drama, she plays Hong Jang Mi, the younger sister of the main character Sammo Hung, portrayed by Park Shin Hye. Her character is described as lively and bubbly.
The drama combines a retro backdrop with a comedic undercover mission. It will be directed by Park Sun Ho, known for Business Proposal and Suspicious Partner, and written by Moon Hyun-kyung, who wrote Into The Ring. Celltrion Entertainment and Studio Dragon will handle production.
Fans are excited to see how Yuna, who is loved for her stage presence in ITZY hits like “DALLA DALLA,” “ICY,” “WANNABE,” “Not Shy,” “LOCO,” and most recently “Girls Will Be Girls,” will take on her first acting role. She is currently promoting ITZY’s 10th mini album Girls Will Be Girls, which was released last month.
Meanwhile, ITZY will continue to perform as a group, with a special stage set for Waterbomb Seoul 2025 at the KINTEX Outdoor Global Stage in Goyang on July 4.
