The ultimate Kdrama couple has arrived!
IU and Byeon Woo Seok are confirmed to star together in a new drama “The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’ (working title), set to air on MBC.
While the “Love Wins All” singer is currently working on “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” the 33-year-old actor’s next acting project after “Lovely Runner,” was highly anticipated.
As per reports, he received dozens of offers and was carefully contemplating her new role.
On December 2, Kakao Entertainment confirmed that IU and Byeon Woo Seok will pair up for the new drama “The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife.”
‘The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’ tells the story of an unlikely love between a commoner and a prince in modern-day Korea.
The drama is helmed by a talented team, with planning by Kang Dae Sun, writing by Yoo Ah In, and production by MBC and Kakao Entertainment.
IU has been cast as Seong Hee Joo, the stunning and intelligent second daughter of a wealthy conglomerate family. Born into privilege, Seong Hee Joo has it all – beauty, brains, and a competitive edge. However, her life becomes complicated when she meets Prince Ian.
She has impressed viewers with her roles in “My Mister,” “Hotel del Luna,” and “Dream High.”
Byeon Woo Seok takes on the role of Prince Ian, the second son of the king in modern-day Korea. As royalty, Prince Ian’s life is predetermined and limited, but everything changes when he meets Seong Hee Joo.
His impressive acting credits include “Moonshine,” “Lovely Runner,” “21st Century Girl,” and “Strong Woman Nam Soon.”
MBC’s upcoming drama “21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife” is set to premiere in the latter half of 2025.
