IU and Byeon Woo Seok’s upcoming romance drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince” got a major boost.
As per the reports, the director behind the hit series “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” Park Joon Hwa is reportedly on board to direct.
Last month, it was reported that the production team is currently on the hunt for a top-notch director. Although a director had initially been selected, the team has decided to delay making a final decision.
Director Park Joon Hwa has been confirmed to helm the upcoming drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince”, according to YTN’s report today. With the director now on board, preparations for filming are complete, and production is set to begin in the first half of this year. The production team plans to release the drama within the year.
Director Park Joon Hwa has directed several hit shows like “Ugly Young-A”, “Let’s Eat”, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”, “Because This is My First Life”, and “Alchemy of Souls”. He is known for bringing out the best in his actors with his subtle directing skills. With him at the helm, expectations for “Wife of a 21st Century Prince” are high.
The drama is already making waves, thanks to the dream pairing of IU and Byun Woo-seok. Fresh from his breakout role in “Lovely Runner”, Byeon Woo Seok is set to play Prince Yian, a modern monarch in a constitutional monarchy.
IU, who’s had huge success in dramas like “Moon Lovers”, “My Mister”, and “Hotel Del Luna”, will star alongside Byun Woo-seok for the first time. She will play Sung Hee Joo, the second daughter of a wealthy family.
