IU Grabs Attention for Using Black Card with 2.5 Million Won Annual Fee [VIDEO]

IU using black card

When singer and actress IU gifted her younger brother for his birthday, people noticed the card she used.

A video called ‘Buying a birthday present for my little brother vlog’ was shared on IU’s online channel on March 19.

In the video, IU went to a luxury store to surprise her brother with a belated birthday gift. Once her brother picked out the clothes he wanted, IU went to the checkout and asked, “Was it a satisfying shopping?”

Her younger brother replied, “Everyone! Money can’t make you happy, but money can make someone else happy,” which made her chuckle.

IU’s brother asked if the payment was processed all at once when IU finished paying by credit card, to which she simply nodded. Following the video’s release, IU’s black card sparked online discussions.

She used the Woori Bank black premium card, which has a 2.5 million won annual fee and requires a minimum bank account deposit of 5 billion won to qualify for signing up.

On February 20, IU dropped her 6th mini album The Winning and kicked off an extensive world tour. She’s set to hit up key cities in various countries, such as Yokohama, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and Bangkok, to connect with fans worldwide.
