Singer IU switched up the title of her new song Love Wins to Love Wins All.
On January 19, IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, made an announcement saying that the title of IU’s pre-released song, originally called Love Wins, will now be changed to Love Wins All. The song is set to be released at 6 PM on January 24.
The agency added, “We decided to change the title to respect and support everyone who loves in their various ways, and we accept the opinions of those who express concerns that the previous message might be blurred due to the title.”
When it was first announced that IU would release a surprise new song called Love Wins on January 15th, some concerns were raised among certain sexual minority communities. This is because Love Wins has been used as a phrase, parade, and social media hashtag by those communities.
People were worried that if a popular singer like IU used Love Wins in a love song with the opposite sex, it might alter the meaning associated with it.
IU and her agency are getting a lot of attention for their brave move in acknowledging these voices and deciding to change the title of the new song.
