Multiple K-pop groups clashed with new releases on April 29. While IVE and SEVENTEEN dropped new albums, RIIZE released three pre-release tracks ahead of the June comeback.
As expected, SEVENTEEN broke numerous album sales records on the first day. 17 IS RIGHT HERE became a double million seller on the first day of release. The album surpassed 2,260,960 Copies sold on the first day on Hanteo.
With this, they became the first artist to surpass 2 million sales on the first day with 3 consecutive albums, FML, SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, and 17 IS RIGHT HERE.
17 IS RIGHT HERE secured a spot in the top 5 of the highest-selling albums on the first day by a boy group. It is officially the highest-selling album of 2024 so far, surpassing NCT DREAM’s DREAM( )SCAPE (1,329,701) and TXT’s minisode3: TOMORROW (1,187,103).
Besides that, other K-pop albums to surpass 2 million sales are BTS’ MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 and Proof, Stray Kids’ 5-STAR, and Jungkook’s Golden.
On the other hand, IVE broke their record by selling 746,118 copies on the first day of release. They surpassed the first-day album sales of their previous release I’VE MINE (726,455).
Lastly, IVE and SEVENTEEN will begin comeback activities and perform on music shows.
