Jang Wonyoung of IVE

Jang Wonyoung wants some time for herself. As a member of the group IVE, Wonyoung is always in the spotlight, however, she’s finally opening up about being watched all the time and privacy invasion.

On August 12, the 19-year-old K-pop star indirectly opened up about the weight of fame in a message through the fan communication platform, Bubble.

In a conversation with a fan, she shared her struggles with excessive privacy invasion, “Lastly, when I am having a personal time sometimes, I am a little flustered sometimes when someone I have never seen shoves a phone or camera on me.”

Wonyoung added, “If you are affectionate and considerate of me, I would be so grateful. If you come to my concert like yesterday or a place where I was, I will greet you more affectionately than anyone else.”

Jang Wonyoung is taking legal action against a YouTube channel called Sojang for spreading rumors and slander about her. She and her agency, Starship Entertainment, filed lawsuits against the channel’s operator in 2022.

Recently, she won a lawsuit against the YouTuber, who was ordered to pay her 100 million won in damages. However, Sojang has appealed the decision and asked to delay the payment.
