Jang Dae Hyeon from WEi will be saying goodbye to his fans for the time being!
The 27-year-old K-pop singer will be enlisting in the military as an active-duty soldier next month.
On September 27, OUI Entertainment shared news about his military enlistment date, stating, “WEi member Jang Dae Hyeon will enlist in the army as an active-duty soldier on October 7th to fulfill his military service duties.”
The label added, “There will be no separate official ceremony to prevent safety accidents due to overcrowding at the enlistment site, which is attended by soldiers and their families.”
Earlier on September 1, OUI Entertainment revealed that he is preparing to enlist in the second half of 2024. The label also stated that his activities with WEi will be limited starting in October.
Jang Dae Hyeon’s journey started as a member of the project group RAINZ, debuting on October 12, 2017. After the group’s disbandment in 2018, he pursued a solo career, releasing his debut single “Feel Good” on August 24, 2019. In 2020, he joined WEi, and the group made their debut on October 5 with the mini album “Identity: First Sight.”
Now, he will be stepping away from the limelight temporarily, with his military enlistment scheduled on October 7.
