On September 27, her husband, Ama Arashi, announced the news of her death on X, stating that Sayuri passed away on September 20.

According to Ama Arashi, a private funeral was held for her, attended only by close relatives and associates, respecting the family’s wishes.

He expressed gratitude for the love and support Sayuri received during her lifetime and for the condolences offered after her passing. He respectfully requested that fans and media refrain from covering Sayuri’s passing out of consideration for her family’s grief.

In a follow-up post, her husband revealed that she was passionate about music despite battling a chronic illness.

Sayuri’s passing was reportedly due to complications from a long-standing illness, which had severely impacted her health.

Prior to her death, Sayuri had publicly disclosed her struggles with functional dyspepsia. On July 25, she announced a hiatus from her activities to focus on her recovery.

Earlier this year on March 18, she announced her wedding to a member of the music unit Misekai, Ama Arashi.

She sang songs for many popular animes including Erased, Scum’s Wish, My Hero Academia, Lycoris Recoil, and more.
