BLACKPINK’s Jennie has revealed how her bandmates reacted to her latest solo single, “Mantra.”
Her latest single “Mantra”, dropped on October 11, is receiving enthusiastic responses from fans. It is not only climbing domestic charts but has also hit #1 on the US iTunes.
The 28-year-old K-pop singer held a livestream after the song’s release to share some behind-the-scenes stories and fellow BLACKPINK members’ reactions.
Jennie revealed that fellow member Jisoo was one of the first to compliment her music video, praising it as “so good.” During a recent meeting, Jisoo asked her about her experience filming in the US.
When the music video was finally dropped, Jisoo complimented her through a text saying, “It came out so well! Continue to film in the US.”
The “SOLO” singer shared that Rosé sent her a supportive message, saying “Unnie, so hot!” alongside screenshots of the “Mantra” MV.
Last but not least, Jennie also received praise from BLACKPINK’s maknae and main dancer Lisa for “Mantra” choreography. She expressed her excitement, saying, “I received a compliment from Lisa! Do you know how big of a deal it is? Lisa said the choreography is really good!”
On another note, Jennie has set the mood for the release of her full-length album by dropping the pre-release track. This year, members will focus on their solo releases, with Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie dropping their debut studio albums. Jisoo has also teased a solo comeback which will be “worth the wait.”
BLACKPINK will resume group activities next year, as confirmed by YG Entertainment.
