Jennie Signs with Columbia Records and Prepares for Solo Music Release in October

BLACKPINK’s Jennie is launching a full-fledged solo career with her latest move!

On Sunday, September 8 (local time), Sony Music Entertainment’s label Columbia Record announced that they have signed a contract with Jennie. 

Earlier on Sunday, a teaser was revealed by ODD ATELIER, and shortly after, the announcement was made by the record label.

After splitting with YG Entertainment, the You & Me singer will be releasing solo music in partnership with ODD ATELIER and Columbia Record.

More importantly, it was revealed that Jennie will be releasing a new solo single in October. It is expected that she will be releasing her debut full-length album shortly after the release of the single.

The BLACKPINK member has been working on her new album for months now. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of new music and already trending tags like ‘JENNIE IS COMING’.

Last year, she released One of The Girls with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp for the HBO Series, The Idol, which she also starred in. She scored her first solo Billboard HOT 100 entry with the single in December 2023 and it stayed on the chart for over 20 weeks.

She officially released the solo single You & Me in October 2023 and featured on Zico’s song SPOT! in April 2024.

Her bandmate Lisa previously signed with RCA Records, and has released two new solo singles so far. Rosé signed a management contract with THE BLACK LABEL and is expected to partner with an international label for solo releases. Jisoo set up her own agency and is currently working on acting projects and new music.

Lastly, YG Entertainment confirmed that all BLACKPINK members will reunite next year for a long-awaited comeback and world tour.
