Netflix’s ‘As You Stood By’ landed a dream cast!”
On September 19, Netflix confirmed the production of a new series, As You Stood By (working title), by releasing the script reading photos.
As You Stood By features a talented cast, including Jeon So Nee, Lee Yoo Mi, Jang Seung Jo, and Lee Moo Saeng.
The thriller follows two women driven to murder by desperate circumstances.
Jeon So Nee takes on the role of Eun Soo, an employee at a luxury goods store, Eun Soo is scarred by childhood trauma and makes a bold decision to rescue her friend Hee Soo from a similar painful experience.
Lee Yoo-mi, known for her roles in Strong Woman Kang Nam-soon and Squid Game, plays the role of Hee-soo. Trapped in a nightmarish marriage, this former children’s book writer devises a plan to kill her abusive husband.
Jang Seung Jo (Familiar Wife, Nothing Uncovered, Chocolate) and Lee Moo Saeng (The Glory, Gyeongseong Creature 2, Hide) also join the cast.
Jang plays Jin Pyo, Hee Soo’s menacing husband. Lee portrays Jin So Baek, Jinkang Trading’s CEO, who discovers Eun Soo and Hee Soo’s plan and offers crucial assistance.
As You Stood By is helmed by acclaimed director Lee Jung Rim (“Revenant,” “V.I.P”) and produced by Studio S, Ghost Studio, and Film Company Miji. Adapted from Okuda Hideo’s gripping novel “Naomi and Kanako,” this suspenseful series sheds light on the darker side of human nature and the resilience of those fighting against violence.
