Jeon Somi officially confirmed on July 21 (KST) that she will release her second mini‑album titled “Chaotic & Confused” later this summer. The announcement follows her July comeback single “EXTRA” and a recently held fan‑meeting tour in Seoul.
The 24-year-old singer released “EXTRA” on July 7. The digital single introduces a sleek disco‑beat sound driven by bassy rhythm and a simple, catchy chorus. Lyrically, it expresses her shift from feeling like an unnoticed “extra” to stepping into her own spotlight. The track was written by Somi, popular music producer and THEBLACKLABEL founder Teddy, Vince, and other songwriters.
The album title “Chaotic & Confused” suggests a more introspective and emotionally charged sound. Somi has balanced bright pop tracks (“Birthday,” “Dumb Dumb”) with sultry R&B numbers (“Outta My Head,” “Pisces”) in the past.
Her upcoming EP appears likely to explore both energetic hooks and deeper, emotional themes under the guidance of THEBLACKLABEL’s Teddy. Teaser images and concept trailers may arrive in the coming weeks, and fans hope for a pre-release single as well.
Prior to her album announcement, she reconnected with fans through her “CHAOS” fan event in Seoul on July 19.
She sang live versions of “Outta My Head,” “Birthday,” “Dumb Dumb,” “Fast Forward,” and more. The “Ice Cream” singer will continue the fan‑meeting tour in Tokyo and Osaka in August.
This year marks Somi’s busiest period to date. After her first EP, “Game Plan” (2023), led by the hit single “Fast Forward,” she released the summer single “Ice Cream” (2024) and now “EXTRA” (2025).
Fans had previously criticized THEBLACKLABEL for her limited activities, but things seem to be picking up this year. Rumor has it that Somi may be gearing up for a world tour, especially after unveiling her official lightstick and fandom name, SOMMUNCHI.
Meanwhile, Jeon Somi will make her long-awaited return with her second mini-album, “Chaotic & Confused,” set to drop on August 11, 2025, at 6 PM KST.
