It’s September 1, and BTS’s golden maknae Jungkook has officially turned 26. While fans around the world were already celebrating, ARMY ended up receiving an unexpected gift of their own. Jimin took to Instagram right at 1 AM KST and shared a black-and-white shirtless photo of himself with Jungkook to wish him a happy birthday.
Jimin was the first BTS member to publicly wish Jungkook a happy birthday. He posted a photo where both of them are seen shirtless with their backs to the camera. He added the playful caption, “Happy birthday JK 😜.”
Fans were also quick to notice Jimin’s tattoos, which had previously appeared briefly during his debut album FACE promotions. In this new picture, his back ink was clearly visible for the first time.
Since their trainee days, the two have been known for their brother-like bond. Jimin has often been seen looking after the “Seven” singer, and Jungkook has repeatedly expressed how much he relies on and trusts Jimin. Fans often affectionately refer to them as ‘Jikook.’
Ahead of the festivities, he himself posted a heartfelt message on the fan platform Weverse. He expressed gratitude to ARMY, writing, “the time that you took care of me is so precious,” and shared his happiness and confidence. He also made a pledge to fans, saying, “Let’s be happy.”
Just a few months prior, in July, Disney+ had announced their travel variety show. The two were rumored to be shooting for the reality show when Jungkook was promoting his digital single “Seven” in the US.
The series will show them on a road trip, cooking meals, and sharing lighthearted banter. It is a natural extension of their closeness from other BTS content like Bon Voyage and In the SOOP.
