Jin, one of the seven members of BTS, has been making waves with his solo music. From the heartfelt ‘The Astronaut’ to the upbeat ‘Super Tuna’, his songs offer a glimpse into his artistic growth.
More recently, the 31-year-old singer opened up about teamwork and how his approach is different for solo activities.
In a candid interview with GQ Japan, Jin praised RM’s leadership skills, saying, “In our case, I think our leader RM’s role is important. He listens carefully to our opinions, then suggests and leads us to the best solution. He is reliable and trustworthy. Me and RM, both have things we would like to do, but we do not assert them strongly in group activities, so instead, we prefer to reflect them in our solo projects.”
When asked about his approach to solo activities, Jin shared, “There’s a direction that we are all picturing (together), so adjusting our opinions amongst the members is the most important thing. We can achieve results that exceed our expectations, by having honest and open discussions. On the other hand, in solo activities, there is more freedom in what you want to do, but it comes with responsibility and quite a lot of tension.”
Jin is pursuing solo activities after getting discharged from the military on June 12. He is set to drop his first-ever solo album “Happy” worldwide on November 15.
