Jisoo has revealed the timeline for her forthcoming solo studio album after BLACKPINK announced their comeback on January 15 at midnight. The 31-year-old singer has shared an update on her busy 2026 schedule. She clarified the timing of her next solo album and other major projects.

Fans had been waiting for news, and she wanted to avoid the vague “soon” that she used before.

Jisoo explained that her solo album will come after BLACKPINK’s group comeback and the premiere of her upcoming Netflix drama.

She added that her previous releases were hectic because multiple projects overlapped, and this time she wants to manage things more carefully. “Since things overlapped so much last time, it was hectic, I was a bit disappointed hehe, wait for it, it is gonna be fun hehe,” the BLACKPINK member said.

For those who need a refresher, Jisoo released her comeback album, AMORTAGE, in February 2025. In the same month, her drama, Newtopia, premiered on Prime Video, and she also began preparations for the fanmeet tour. Therefore, she mentioned in her latest Bubble message that things got “hectic” because of multiple schedules.

Jisoo’s first major project of 2026 is her lead role in the romantic K-drama Boyfriend On Demand, where she plays Seo Mi Rae, a webtoon producer whose life changes after subscribing to a virtual boyfriend service.

The drama also stars Seo In Guk and is set to premiere on Netflix in February. Filming is already complete, and the series is in post-production. This role is one of her most significant since her performance in Snowdrop and Newtopia.

BLACKPINK’s group comeback is scheduled shortly after, with their third mini-album DEADLINE releasing on February 27, 2026. This will be the group’s first release in 3.5 years since 2022’s Born Pink.  The four-member group will also wrap their ongoing world tour, Deadline, this month.

Jisoo has stated that her solo album will follow these two projects to avoid the intense overlap that made her previous schedules difficult. This album comes after the success of her digital single, Eyes Closed, with Zayn Malik, which charted on Billboard HOT 100.

Her solo career continues to grow under her own label, Blissoo, which she established in 2024. She also signed a global distribution deal with Warner Records, allowing her to maintain creative control over her music and manage the timing of releases carefully.

Her previous solo projects include the single album ME in 2023 and the EP Amortage in 2025. Both releases earned critical acclaim and awards, with songs like “Flower” winning Best Female Artist and Best Music Video at the MAMA Awards.

By spacing out her projects, Jisoo hopes to give each one the focus it deserves. Fans can look forward to the Netflix drama in February, BLACKPINK’s comeback at the end of that month, and eventually her first full-length solo album in spring.
