BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is returning to our screens with a brand new romantic comedy. This is her first rom-com and her third overall major acting project. She makes her acting comeback a year after her last zom-com drama, Newtopia, which aired on Prime Video in February 2025.
Seo In Guk stars as male lead and returns to the romantic comedy genre after years. His last project was a superhero drama, Twelve, which also starred Ma Dong Seok and Park Hyung Sik.
Since Boyfriend on Demand is set to premiere soon, here’s what fans need to know.
Boyfriend on Demand Release Date
Jisoo and Seo In Guk’s romantic comedy “Boyfriend on Demand” is set to premiere globally on March 6, 2026, exclusively on Netflix. It is expected that all 10 episodes will be released at once, so fans might want to clear their schedule for a weekend binge-watch session.
Plot Overview
The story centers on Seo Mi Rae, a talented but completely exhausted webtoon producer played by Jisoo. She is burned out from her demanding job and has pretty much given up on the complicated world of real-life dating.
Looking for an escape, Mi Rae stumbles upon a futuristic, subscription-based virtual dating simulation program called “Boyfriend on Demand”. This AI-powered service allows her to create and experience perfect, customized dates with her ideal types. In this virtual world, she is swept away on dreamy dates in all sorts of glamorous settings.
However, things get complicated in the real world. At work, she constantly butts heads with her colleague and professional rival, Park Kyeong Nam, played by Seo In Guk. Despite their tense start, the two gradually grow closer as they spend late nights working overtime together. They become “overtime work buddies.” Slowly, Mi Rae’s feelings for her imperfect but real co-worker grow.
