Jisoo and Seo In Guk’s Rom-Com ‘Boyfriend on Demand’ Sets Release Date + Watch Trailer

Jisoo in a teaser for 'Boyfriend on Demand'

Netflix has finally unveiled the first trailer and confirmed the release date for its upcoming Korean romantic comedy “Boyfriend on Demand. On February 5, Netflix unveiled a dreamy teaser with premiere date for the rom-com starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and actor Seo In Guk.

The series, originally known by its Korean title Monthly Boyfriend, will premiere globally on Netflix on March 6, 2026, as part of the platform’s first-quarter 2026 lineup. Previously, the streaming giant gave a sneak peek into the rom-com when revealing the 2026 K-content lineup.

“Boyfriend on Demand” tells the story of Seo Mi Rae, played by Jisoo, a webtoon producer who is worn out by her demanding daily life and has grown tired of real-world dating. Looking for an escape, she signs up for a virtual dating subscription service that allows users to experience romance through a simulation.

Inside this virtual world, Mi Rae meets a range of ideal boyfriends and finds herself feeling emotions she did not expect.

The newly released teaser and poster highlight the drama’s fresh concept. In the poster, Mi Rae appears deep in thought beside a checklist that diagnoses her current relationship status. A phrase is written on the poster, “Sounds like you? subscribe now.”

The teaser shows Mi Rae being pulled out of her tiring reality and dropped into fantasy-like dating scenarios. It includes moments straight out of a romance webtoon, a spring campus filled with cherry blossoms, and a beach scene just before a kiss. Her everyday life, which she longs to log out of, fades away as Mi Rae goes on dreamlike dates. It ends with the question, “Who will you be dating today?”

Seo In Guk stars opposite Jisoo as Park Gyeong Nam, Mi Rae’s capable but seemingly cold colleague and rival webtoon producer. His character is described as someone with unexpected secrets. Seo In Guk said the drama shows romance in virtual reality and real life at the same time.

The drama is directed by Kim Jung Sik, known for works such as Work Later, Drink Now, and written by Namgung Do-young. It consists of ten episodes and was filmed on location in Cebu, Philippines, in early 2025. While the project was initially developed for the Korean broadcaster MBC, it was later picked up and produced as a Netflix Original.

Alongside Jisoo and Seo In Guk, the series features a strong supporting cast, including Gong Min Jeung and Kim Ah Young, with Seo Kang Joon making a special appearance. Additional cast members include Ryu Abel, Park Ji Ho, and Lee Soo Hyuk.

Mark your calendar for March 6 when Boyfriend on Demand will be available for streaming on Netflix.
