Jisoo has joined her BLACKPINK bandmates on the Billboard HOT 100. Her new single “Eyes Closed” featuring Zayn debuted in the top 80, marking her first solo entry on the chart. With this, all four BLACKPINK members now have individual Hot 100 credits.
On October 20 (local time), Billboard released its official chart and Jisoo and Zayn’s duet “Eyes Closed” charted at No.72. Besides debuting at No. 72 on the Hot 100, it reached #10 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., #20 on the Global 200, and #1 on New Zealand’s Hot Singles chart. The single also topped the UK British Asian Chart and hit No. 2 in Malaysia.
In its first week, the song racked up nearly 44 million streams outside the U.S. and sold around 5,000 digital copies globally. It also became one of the most-added tracks on U.S. Hot AC radio that week
The path to “Eyes Closed” started quietly in mid-2025. Zayn first hinted at the collaboration after attending BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour stop in New York. He teased fans about working with “someone unexpected” and a “pretty sick” collaboration. In early October, Jisoo posted a cryptic image with the caption “a duet is near.” The collaboration was confirmed days later, and the single dropped on October 10 under YGEX and RCA Records.
This marks Jisoo’s first international release and Zayn’s first major K-pop collaboration. Musically, “Eyes Closed” is a mellow, modern pop track built around soft guitar riffs, airy synths, and a deep bassline. The song blends Zayn’s smooth tone with Jisoo’s clear vocals.
Lyrically, it reflects on starting a new relationship while carrying memories of the past. The pair trade lines about the uncertainty of love but ultimately choose to “fall in love with our eyes closed.”
The “Eyes Closed” music video, directed by Frank and Ivanna Borin, takes a cinematic, sci-fi approach. Jisoo and Zayn play lone astronauts who wake from cryosleep on a drifting spacecraft. Floating through dim corridors and suspended among planets, they find each other amid the emptiness of space.
Jisoo’s route to the Hot 100 was gradual compared to her bandmates. In 2021Rosé and Lisa secured their first HOT 100 entries with “On the Ground” (#70) and “LALISA” (#84), respectively. Jennie charted with the OST “One of the Girls” alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp in 2023.
Though Jisoo’s previous projects, including her 2023 single album ME and her 2025 EP Amortage, sold well, they didn’t break into the U.S. charts. “Eyes Closed” changes that narrative.
The single will also serve as the pre-release track from Jisoo’s upcoming full-length solo album, expected in early 2026. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is preparing a group comeback amid ongoing tour, with MV filming underway. Unlike the previously announced November timeline, the group will now likely make a comeback in December.
