MOMOLAND member Jane publicly addressed and firmly denied circulating rumors suggesting she had a past romantic relationship with SEVENTEEN’s Joshua. The rumors came back into the spotlight following news about Joshua’s rumored relationship with influencer Cho Mi Young.
Jane took the unusual step of directly clarifying the situation to her fans. In her message, she stated, “I have never met Joshua from SEVENTEEN” and added, “I don’t know anything about this. I don’t know what to say because I’m very nervous and careful.”
She further explained, “I dared to write this because I really wanted to tell my fans.” She also emphasized that not only had she never met the SEVENTEEN’s vocalist, but her close acquaintances had never interacted with him either.
The confusion around Jane and Joshua reportedly originated from an online post that hinted at a past relationship involving a female idol, though no names were mentioned.
Fans quickly speculated that Jane was being referenced, which caused the rumors to spread widely. The MOMOLAND member explained that many inquiries were sent to her agency for confirmation, which led to further misunderstandings. She admitted that her previous silence may have contributed to the ongoing speculation.
By speaking out, Jane wanted to provide clarity for her fans and put an end to the false rumors. Her statement has effectively put an end to ongoing rumors linking her to Joshua.
Meanwhile, Joshua has also been reported to have a romantic connection with model and influencer Cho Mi Young. Fans noticed them attending the same events and wearing similar outfits, which fueled dating rumors. Neither Joshua nor Cho Mi Young has publicly confirmed or denied the speculations.
Professionally, MOMOLAND members decided not to renew their contracts with MLD and are now pursuing individual projects. SEVENTEEN, on the other hand, gears up to release their best Japanese album, Always Yours, on August 23.
