Jun Ji Hyun, 43, has officially parted ways with her previous agency, IEUM Hashtag. The Kdrama icon has launched a one-person management company named PEACHY.
Her former agency officially announced their contract termination on Monday in a brief statement and wishes her the best for her future endeavors.
It is not unusual for Kdrama and K-pop stars to establish independent labels to pursue activities with more freedom. More recently, actor Park Hyung Suk set up his one-person agency, RÉVE, after his contract with P&Studio expired. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, Baekhyun, and Baekho are some of the K-pop stars who established their personal labels.
Jun Ji Hyun shared the reason for setting up her own agency instead of signing with an existing one, saying,
After living as an actress for a long time, I needed time to reflect on myself and find a new direction. PEACHY is a choice that represents who I am now and a starting point for me to focus on more essential things.

The company expressed its vision, stating,

Jun ventured into acting in the late 90s and has since starred in many iconic and timeless Kdramas, such as The Legend of Blue Sea, My Love From Star, Happy Together, and more. She proved her acting skills in many popular movies, including Daisy, The Berlin File, The Thieves, Assassination, and more.
Meanwhile, fans won’t have to wait long to see Jun Ji Hyun back on screen. She will return this September in the Disney+ original series Tempest, playing Moon Ju, a diplomat and former UN ambassador with an international reputation. Together with Sanho, a mysterious special agent played by Kang Dong Won, Moon Ju sets out to uncover the truth behind a massive incident. She is portrayed as a respected diplomat at home and abroad.
