Jungkook of BTS has achieved a remarkable feat with his debut album. In just 5 hours after its release, his album has reached the prestigious “double million seller” status.
According to the Hanteo Chart, which is a site that tracks domestic album sales, BTS Jungkook’s solo album ‘Golden” sold 2,147,389 copies on the day of its release, which was November 3.
Within just 3 hours of the album release, it sold a whopping 1 million copies, making it an instant ‘Million Seller’. And it doesn’t stop there, the sales skyrocketed to over 2 million copies within 5 hours of its release.
Golden smashed records by selling over 2 million copies on its very first day of release, making it the highest-selling debut day for a K-pop solo artist’s album ever.
Moreover, Golden reached the top spot on the iTunes ‘Top Album’ chart in a staggering 77 countries and regions, including the UK, Germany, France, Canada, and Japan.
The title song Standing Next to You and a total of 10 tracks from Golden, entered Melon’s real-time chart’s ‘TOP 100’, right after its release.
Golden is all about Jungkook’s “golden moment” as a solo artist, from being the “golden maknae” of BTS to becoming a “global pop star.”
