The 2024 Grammy Awards nominations have been announced, and once again, K-pop artists have been left out of the prestigious music event. This exclusion has left fans of the genre feeling disappointed and frustrated.
No K-pop artists are nominated for the 66th Grammy Awards, including BTS. K-pop acts were not included in the list of nominees, according to the Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammys.
It’s a major letdown that BTS, who had been nominated for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022, didn’t make the cut in the ‘Best Pop Duo Group Performance’ category. Fans had high hopes and were eagerly anticipating their nomination this year.
Instead, the nominees for the ‘Best Pop Duo Group Performance’ category included Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlyle, Taylor Swift, Ice Spice, SZA, and Phoebe Bridgers. These artists were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the pop music genre.
Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, and RM from BTS, as well as FIFTY FIFTY, Tomorrow by Together (TXT), and TWICE all submitted their work for consideration in the ‘Best Pop Duo Group Performance’ category.
However, none of the aforementioned K-pop acts made it to the final list of Grammy Awards 2024 nominees.
The Grammys is an annual awards ceremony organized by the Recording Academy, which consists of music experts like singers, producers, recording engineers, and critics. The 66th Grammy Awards are set to take place in February next year.
