KARA is set to make a highly anticipated comeback after a two-year hiatus with a new single, but unfortunately, member Gyuri will not be participating in the group’s activities for this comeback.
Park Gyuri is temporarily halting her activities due to a facial injury.
On July 13, Big Boss Entertainment revealed that she sustained a fracture to her clavicle and orbital bone during a personal engagement, and has undergone a thorough medical evaluation at the hospital.
The label shared that the 36-year-old singer has opted for surgery to treat her facial injury, as recommended by medical experts due to the severity of the fracture.
The recovery period is expected to last around 4-5 weeks, during which he will cancel all scheduled activities for the month.
Gyuri has decided not to participate in any activities this month including the comeback promotions.
On another note, Kara is set to release a new single, I DO I DO, on July 24, marking their first full-group comeback in approximately 1 year and 8 months.
Unfortunately, Park Gyuri’s injury will likely prevent her from participating in promotional activities for the new single.
In addition, the group will still hold their ‘KARASIA’ concert in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, next month.
