JYP Entertainment has confirmed that Amaru (Mitsuyuki Amaru), a member of the rookie boy group KickFlip, will temporarily halt all promotional activities due to psychological anxiety.
On September 17, the agency stated that after professional consultation and medical evaluation, Amaru has been advised to focus on rest and treatment.
“Accordingly, he will not be participating in scheduled activities starting today, as he focuses on treatment and recovery. We will provide a further update regarding the timing of his return once it has been determined,” the official statement reads.
JYP emphasized that the decision was made collectively with Amaru and his fellow members, prioritizing his health above all.
Amaru, born October 21, 2005, in Saitama, Japan, has been training for nearly a decade. He initially trained under YG Japan alongside future TREASURE members Asahi and Haruto, appearing on the survival show YG Treasure Box in 2018. Later, he joined JYP Entertainment in 2021 after placing third on SBS’s survival program LOUD.
He debuted as the main vocalist and lead rapper of KickFlip on January 20, 2025, with their mini-album Flip It, Kick It! and the title track “Mama Said.” Amaru has contributed to songwriting and composition across KickFlip’s discography, including tracks like “Umm Great,” “Like A Monster,” “Complicated!!,” and “404: Not Found.”
Meanwhile, after debuting in January, KickFlip is set to release their third mini-album, My First Flip, on September 22. The group will proceed with promotions, as Amaru focuses on his health.
