After Hwang Minhyun, another former NU’EST member Kim Jong Hyun will be enlisting in the military.
On August 18, the 29-year-old K-pop star surprised fans with a live broadcast on his social media, revealing some personal news.
He explained that he had planned to share the information with them first, but due to a recent article, he decided to address it directly. During the broadcast, Kim Jong Hyun announced that he would be enlisting in the military in September.
Following his enlistment, he will undergo basic training and serve as an active-duty soldier. The exact military enlistment date has not yet been announced.
His agency Evermore Entertainment will likely make an announcement soon about the enlistment date.
Kim Jong Hyun has been active in the entertainment industry since his debut as a member of NU’EST in 2012. After the group’s disbandment in 2022, he successfully transitioned to a solo career with his mini-album ‘MERIDIEM’ and has since explored various fields as a singer, actor, and all-around performer.
Before enlisting in the military in September, Kim Jong-hyun will hold a fan meeting, ‘ANDING’, on August 31 at the Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul.
