Lisa is giving BLINKs another reason to hit “play.” The BLACKPINK star has announced her new EP, PRESS PLAY, set to arrive in October.
Earlier in August, she launched a mysterious website featuring the words “HELLO สวัสดีค่ะ” and a countdown set for August 24. The campaign used both English, Thai, and other languages. Fans were speculating a major solo announcement, possibly a world tour given her signing with Wasserman Music.
Nonetheless, fans are excited as Lisa is set for a major release over a year after her debut studio album, Alter Ego. Lisa will drop her new EP, PRESS PLAY, on October 23, 2026. The EP will have 6 tracks, and the first pre-release single, SwaDiKa, will be out on September 3.
The album is described as
LISA in her most personal form, paying homage to her roots in Thailand and her rise as a global icon.
Other BLACKPINK members Jisoo and Jennie have also announced solo releases. Jennie will release a digital album, Fallen Angle, on August 28, and Jisoo’s new comeback is scheduled for September 4.
The new EP arrives during an especially busy year for Lisa. In 2026, she has already returned to the global stage with BLACKPINK and announced her first Las Vegas residency, VIVA LA LISA, scheduled for November.
PRESS PLAY follows her debut solo album, Alter Ego, which secured #7 on the Billboard 200. Multiple songs from the album like ROCKSTAR, New Woman, and Born Again charted on Billboard HOT 100.
She is also preparing for VIVA LA LISA, her first Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The four announced performances are scheduled for November 13, 14, 27, and 28, 2026. Caesars has described the residency as the first Las Vegas residency by a K-pop artist.
This means PRESS PLAY will arrive just weeks before LISA takes the stage in Las Vegas. Details about the EP are still limited, so it is too early to confirm its complete tracklist or musical direction.
In addition, Lisa is set to release her 97-minute documentary, Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim. It follows Lisa over a year as she steps away from BLACKPINK for the first time since childhood to launch her solo career, pursue acting, and build her brand with LLOUD. The documentary will have its world premiere at TIFF next month.
Last year, BLACKPINK returned with DEADLINE, its third mini album, following the release of “JUMP” and the group’s worldwide touring activities. The group recently reunited to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary. Also, rumors are swirling that the group might disband if they do not sign their second contract extension with YG. Currently, all members are working on solo music.
Mark your calendar for October 23 when Lisa releases PRESS PLAY.
