Kim Min Ha, rising Kdrama actress, is flooded with acting offers after the success of Typhoon Family. The 30-year-old Kdrama actress recently received an offer to join a Netflix rom-com with Pachinko co-star, Noh Sang Hyun.
As reported by iMBC Entertainment on February 6, Kim Min Ha has been confirmed as the lead in the upcoming drama “Embers,” the newest project from acclaimed writer Park Jae Beom. Park is known for his hit series “Good Doctor,” “The Fiery Priest,” and “Vincenzo.”
He is known for creating fast-paced, gripping dramas with memorable characters, and Embers promises the same.
The drama, produced by AStory to mark its 21st anniversary, is grabbing attention for his historical setting. Set in 1980s South Korea during the Fifth Republic, “Embers” is a youth spy drama. The story follows Baek Seo Kyung, a dedicated National Intelligence Service agent, who is fiercely loyal to her country. Baek goes undercover as the leader of a broadcasting station’s dance team to uncover spies.
Kim Min Ha plays Baek Seo Kyung, a cool-headed and determined elite agent. She first gained international acclaim for her role as the young Sunja in Apple TV+’s “Pachinko.” She has since appeared in “Light Shop” and “Way Back Love.” Her recent project was Disney+’s “Typhoon Family,” where she played Yoo Ha Young, the daughter of a former gangster.
In addition to Embers, Kim will reunite with her Pachinko co-star Noh Sang Hyun in the Netflix romantic comedy Stardust, where they play long-term lovers.
Prior to that, she will appear in Netflix fantasy-horror drama, Dead-End Job, opposite big stars like Lee Jae Wook and Go Min Si. She plays Byeon Ji Yoon, the spirited younger sister of the main character.
Ji Yoon is a bold and outspoken person who lives by the motto “Poverty is scarier than ghosts.” While she often bickers with her brother, Hyuk Jun, she becomes genuinely worried when his high-paying new job leads him into a nightmarish and strange situation. Netflix has scheduled the 8-episode series for release in October 2026.
With Park Jae Beom’s reputation for hit dramas, fans have high hopes that Embers will be her next big success.
