Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has released another lengthy statement to address the mounting allegations against the actor.
Previously, Gold Medalist released a statement on Friday, March 14 as the public criticism grew. The agency confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late Kim Sae Ron, however, they denied claims that they began dating when she was a minor. Gold Medalist revealed that the two dated between 2018 and 2019 after Kim Sae Ron turned 18.
Additionally, there were claims that the agency sent a certified letter to demand repayment of 700 million won. The aforementioned amount was paid by the agency when the “Bloodhounds” actress was involved in a drunk driving incident.
On Tuesday, March 18, the agency released a statement to deny claims that they forced Kim Sae Ron to repay debt. They previously stated that sending a certified letter to Kim Sae Ron was a standard procedure to avoid embezzlement. Additionally, they never intended for the amount to be returned and were just following standard protocols.
The statement released today states
Regarding Allegations of Forced Debt Payment
“We never coerced Kim Sae Ron into paying.
We worked together with Kim Sae Ron to resolve the compensation for the damages from the drunk driving incident, and through our efforts, we reduced the remaining compensation amount to around 700 million won.
However, Kim Saeron faced difficulties in continuing her career, and the agency determined that she was no longer able to repay the debt and covered the remaining amount in December 2023.
The audit report dated April 1, 2024, confirms that the debt was officially written off as of December 31, 2023.
The second official notice was simply a legal procedure guide, informing her of repayment options and inviting discussion about the method and schedule of repayment.
Regarding Allegations of Contact Restrictions with Agency Actors
The second official notice only advised Kim Sae Ron to discuss debt-related matters with her lawyer instead of unauthorized individuals.
The agency’s message to Kim Sae Ron regarding contact with actors was only to clarify that she should not ask other agency members about the debt issue. In fact, she was free to communicate with her fellow actors without any restrictions.
Regarding YouTuber Lee Jinho
Gold Medalist has no connection with YouTuber Lee Jinho.
The person Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon) referred to as ‘Kim Saeron’s former manager’ was not affiliated with Gold Medalist but worked with Kim Sae Ron under a different company.
Regarding Actress Seo Ye Ji Rumors
• The claim that Gold Medalist tried to defame Seo Ye Ji is completely false.
• Even the former manager who was in charge of Seo Ye Ji at that time (who has since left the company) found the rumors absurd and contacted the agency regarding them.
• We urge everyone to stop spreading false information based on anonymous reports.
Regarding False Claims from Kim Sae Ron’s Family and Gaseyeon (Garo Sero Institute)
Kim Sae Ron’s family and Gaseyeon have continuously spread misinformation through press conferences and media reports.
For example, Gold Medalist did attend Kim Sae Ron’s funeral, and the person seen in a fan’s SNS post is not Kim Soo Hyun but someone else.
We ask that you stop trying to damage Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation using unrelated photos and online posts.
Gold Medalist, March 18, 2025
Meanwhile, Gold Medalist has denied various allegations surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, and will take strong legal action against what it calls “defamation based on false facts”. Despite the agency having repeatedly refuted the claim, the “Queen of Tears” actors continue to receive backlash from netizens. Many brands have cut ties with him, in addition, his appearance in MBC’s variety show “Good Day” is minimized. Adding to the controversy are claims that Kim Soo Hyun and his cousin Lee Sa Rang framed Seo Ye Ji, who was his labelmate and “It’s Okay to Be Not Okay” co-star, as a bully.
