Rumor has it that Kim Yoo Jung and Park Jinyoung might be teaming up for a thrilling new period drama. Both actors have received casting offers to star in 100 Days of Lies, a high-stakes series set in Gyeongseong during Korea’s colonial era.
Kim Yoo Jung’s agency, Awesome ENT, confirmed that she is considering the lead role. BH Entertainment, representing Park Jinyoung, also stated that he is positively reviewing the offer. Even though it’s not confirmed, fans are excited about the possibility of them starring together.
100 Days of Lies is a historical spy series set in Gyeongseong during the Japanese occupation. It follows a skilled pickpocket who strikes a deal with the Korean independence army and goes undercover inside the Japanese Government-General as a spy.
If confirmed, Kim Yoo Jung will play the lead role of the pickpocket-turned-spy. Details about Park Jinyoung’s characters have not yet been revealed.
The drama is directed by Yoo In Shik, known for Dr. Romantic and Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Yoo is also helming the second season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo and The Wonderfools. The script is penned by Ryu Bo Ri, writer of Do You Like Brahms? and Trolley.
Meanwhile, 100 Days of Lies is scheduled to air on tvN, with production expected to start in the coming months.
Kim Yoo Jung was last seen in the Netflix drama My Demon with Song Kang and Chicken Nugget. She has completed filming Dear X, a webtoon-based drama scheduled to air on TVING later this year.
Park Jinyoung, a GOT7 member and actor, previously starred in Yumi’s Cells, The Devil Judge, and Christmas Carol. After his military discharge in November last year, Park has appeared in two dramas, The Witch and Our Unwritten Seoul. In addition, he also starred in the film Hi-Five, released in May.
