The new Korean film “Revenge” has started filming with an exciting cast lineup. Kim You Jung, Park Ji Hwan, and Cho Yeo Jeong have joined the cast of the film, currently working under the title Revenge.
“Revenge” follows Yun Ha (Kim Yoo Jung), a young woman who dies unfairly in an accident but stays in the world as a ghost. She can’t leave the human world because her younger brother is in danger.
To save him, she teams up with an unusual ally – a 400-year-old goblin (Park Ji Hwan) who wants to become human. Adding to the tension is a shaman named Ju Bo (Cho Yeo Jeong), who chases after Yun Ha.
This film brings together three very different actors. First is Kim You Jung, who many know from “Love in the Moonlight,” “My Demon,” and “20th Century Girl.” She recently received praise for her outstanding performance in “Dear X,” which wrapped on December 4. This is a new type of role for her as a ghost trying to save her family.
Then there’s Park Ji Hwan, best known for his funny role as Detective Jang in “The Roundup” movies. Park recently appeared in “A Hundred Memories,” “The Murky Stream,” and “Tempest.” He will be playing the goblin, which should show a different side of his acting.
Finally, Cho Yeo Jeong joins the cast. Fans might remember her as the wealthy mother in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite.” She will be playing the intense shaman chasing the ghostly heroine. Before “Revenge” releases, Cho will appear in Disney+’s ‘Made in Korea’ starring Hyun Bin, slated for December 24.
The film is directed by Hong Eui Jeong. Her first movie, “Voice of Silence,” won several awards, including Best New Director at the Baeksang Arts Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards.
“Revenge” started filming on November 17, 2025. It mixes fantasy, comedy, and some darker elements. With an award-winning director and a talented cast, the film has a lot going for it.
While it’s still early in production and no release date is out yet, the combination of a fresh story and this talented team makes “Revenge” a film to watch for.
